DevOps engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team and help manage and optimize our infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with self-hosted Kubernetes and self-hosted Couchbase & Sync Gateway, as these are the most critical components of our environment.
Beyond technical expertise, we are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, capable of identifying and solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership of infrastructure-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and optimize self-hosted Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
• Manage and optimize self-hosted Couchbase & Sync Gateway, ensuring seamless database synchronization and scalability.
• Maintain and configure databases, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance using ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and Sentry.
• Optimize and secure Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer.
• Manage virtualization platforms like Proxmox and VMware for efficient resource allocation.
• Develop and improve Gitlab CI/CD pipelines: deploy to Kubernetes, Docker compose, build & release mobile app with Fastlane for Flutter.
• Implement robust security measures, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms.

Requirements
✅ Must-have:

• Spoken English from B2
• Strong experience with self-hosted Kubernetes in a production environment.
• Experience in self-hosted Couchbase & Sync Gateway setup, maintenance, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Nginx configuration and optimization.
• Proficiency in managing virtualized environments (Proxmox, VMware).
• Initiative mindset and general problem solving.

✅ Nice-to-have:

• Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Experience managing MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry).
