The role of Help Desk Technician provides IT support (Level 1) to all IDT Employees and global remote teams.
The technician will be responsible for analyzing and resolving service desk tickets, as well as responding to requests via emails, slack, online calls, or in-person regarding problems or questions submitted by Employees and remote teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 desktop/laptop and software support.
- Manage accounts (Create, or Unlock and Reset passwords) and Applications access (Gmail, Jira, VPN etc.)
- Provide remote support to resolve PC applications and identify hardware problems.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware or other IT related user issues.
- Provide employee Onboarding & Offboarding with Help Desk standards.
- Install and uninstall software on PC's as needed.
- Escalate problems (when needed) to team members, manager, or 3rd party vendors, and track until resolution.
- Perform user and asset management tasks.
- Build/deploy equipment with IDT PC standards.
- Participate in IT projects and tasks as needed.
- Contact local service centers and control equipment hardware repairment.
Experience, Necessary Skills, Work Hours:
- 2 years of experience as a Desktop Support Technician or comparable support position.
Knowledge of:
- Active Directory and Basic Networking.
- Windows Desktop systems is a must, MacOS and Unix is an advantage.
- Mobile Devices IOS and Android (user level skill).
Ability to:
- Work independently, follow and act on instructions via remote communications such as email, slack, or phone calls, etc.
- Isolate problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Write service desk case reports and correspondence.
- Apply concepts and procedures obtained during on-the-job training sessions to everyday situations.
Work Hours:
- The position will support Minsk employees as well as other IDT Global regions in the US, EU, HK, Israel, Canada and Latin America. Must have the ability to work during off business hours in case of emergencies at the Minsk office.
English B2-C1 - must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
