Legal Assistant at Beress & Zalkind PLLC – A US boutique law firm powering efficient litigations

Beress & Zalkind PLLC is a boutique law firm in New York City devoted exclusively to the practice of trusts and estates, corporate, tax, and real estate law. Their attorneys have worked at top law firms and bring with them the stellar knowledge and experience to offer practical, cost-effective, and creative solutions in even the toughest of legal situations.

Their main aspiration is to help their clients succeed. They value relationships with our clients above all and work closely with and for our clients as their trusted counsel and advisors. With this personal attention and high level of service, we are able to understand our clients' needs and help them achieve their goals in their business and personal endeavors.

They’re known for aggressive advocacy and maximizing client assistance—and they need a remote Legal Assistant to help them continue delivering great services. If you’re a detail-obsessed problem-solver who thrives in chaos, this is your chance to learn from top attorneys and succeed.

About the Role:

We need a remote Legal Assistant to be the right hand of their attorneys—drafting demand letters, organizing records and documents from forms and folders, and managing client communication with precision. No prior U.S. law knowledge needed—just common sense, tech skills, and hustle.

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft and format legal documents (demand letters, pleadings, discovery requests) fast—no 5-hour delays for 2-page tasks.

  • Manage client communication—respond to emails/calls with empathy and professionalism.

  • Organize case files—track records, documents, and deadlines.

  • Support attorneys with research, scheduling, and ad hoc tasks.

  • Spot inefficiencies—Be sharp on the assistance and maybe suggest templates or automations to speed up repetitive work.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 1+ year in legal roles – Internships, paralegal studies, or law-adjacent work counts.

  • Fluent English (written/spoken) – Zero tolerance for errors. You’ll email clients daily.

  • Tech-savvy – Google Workspace, PDF editors (e.g., Adobe, Foxit), and ability to learn quickly.

  • Speed + accuracy – A must-have to thrive in this position.

  • Proactive attitude – You ask questions, fix mistakes, and own your work.

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of U.S. legal terms (e.g., "discovery," "settlement demand").

  • Russian language – A plus.

What We Offer:

  • Full-time job. Please note that we won’t consider candidates planning to combine this job with another one.

  • Remote work. You may be located in almost any country, just need a good Internet connection, a computer to work from, and the opportunity to adjust your working schedule for the team.

  • Growth opportunities to learn and grow inside the company.

  • Salary will be discussed during the interview. Paid in USD.

Working Hours:

This is a remote position with an opportunity to work from 9 am to 5 pm or 10 am to 6 pm in the US EST time zone (you may check the time difference via the link)

Application deadline: 20th of May, 2025.
